JEB Stuart February 6, 1833 - May 12, 1864

Stuart resigned from the US army in May of 1861 to join the Confederacy following Virginias secession.

Led his regiment in the 1st battle of Bull Run forcing the Union retreat into Washington D.C.

Stuart died after a battle on the outskirts of Richmond on May 11, 1864 after being shot by a Michigan trooper.

He died the day after the battle on May 12, 1864.
