The United States had a positive impact as well. For instance, the military had been utilized during many humanitarian crises, such as Rwanda, which had also helped the United States image around the world. The international intervention led by the United States during the gulf war stopped Iraq's attempt to conquer Kuwait, the likes of which hadn't been seen since WWII, was based on longstanding international law and broad support among the international community. So the notion that the United States had done no good is untrue.
