Paraphrasing

In this song, it starts out with the artist talking about how when she was young, she saw her dad heartbroken when her mother left them. How her mother left them, I'm not sure. Going through that made her feel that she doesn't believe that love exists. In the other verses she says how she has been content with being alone, and if she falls for this guy she realizes that he'll probably leave her. She knows the reality of it because that's what happen to her father. Although, she sings about in the chorus that he is the only exception, and she is willing to give her heart to him, or at least try. The song finishes off with her saying that she is in her way to believing in love.
