- Fluorine is the 9th element if the Periodic Table. It is

located in refridgerators, rocket fuel and toothpaste. It is commnoly mistaken as Fluoride but the truth is, Fluorine's anion (F-), or any of the compounds containing the anion (the negatively charged ion, that connects with the postively charged one) are called Fluorides. So they are similar. When you hear about Fluoride in drinking water it is usually because a compound of Fluorine is added to it.

Fluorine is very dnagerous at room temperature so be careful with it in a science lab. Fluorine is highly poisonous and reacts with almost anything. Fluorine is a yellowish gas belonging to the Halogen family.
