The Japanese Sea Lion lived on coastal areas. Their habitats were in and/or very close to the water. For example they lived on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, Kuril Islands, Sea of Japan coastal ares, and the Korean Peninsula. These were mainly salt water areas.
