~ married to John Peters and had 3 children

~ all 3 of her children died in infancy

~ she was sold to John and Susanna Wheatley 

~ the Wheatley's educated her

~ she was not trained to be a servant. She was trained to be smart by Susanna. 

~ she saw problems with the government and with the stamp act. It inspired her to write poems for the cause of the patriots.
