In summery

The pardoner while a holy man is really only in it just for money and not for the correction of sin, it is often said that he thinks that sermons are products of evil intentions. And he forbid's swearing feeling that its offensive to God and even made it the second commandment, even placing it above homicide, some time in the story he tells a tale about lecherous Flemish youngsters.

In the tale there are three rioters sitting down drinking when they hear what sounds like a funeral knell, one of the servants of the revelers tells the group that there friend was slain by a mysterious figure known as death or the grim reaper, angered by the news the decided to fight death even while in there drunkenness state.
