Zeus's Purpose

• After the defeat of Kronos, Zeus became the ruler of Mt. Olympus

• Zeus kept spiritual as well as natural order

• He was believed to watch over mortals, acting like a father figure

• He would reward the mortals with rain, and punish them with severe storms
