WHO DOES IT AFFECT?

African sleeping sickness affects those who live in the African countries exposed to the disease. Also, those who have visited these countries have been exposed to this disease. It can effect everybody exposed. One form of the disease, Trypanosoma brucei gambiense, is found in west and central Africa. The other, Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense, is found in eastern and southern Africa.
