William the Conqueror. The reason England was so successful was because they had a great leader, William the Conqueror. He successfully dealt with rebellion, he conquerored lots of land, he basically solved many problems and created new things for the kingdom. The Battles of Hastings, Stamford Bridge, and Senlac were the three main battles fought during the Norman conquest of England.
