The American toad is one of the most common toads in America, as you can probably tell by the name. Interesting things about this particular type of toad is that it can live up to 30 years! They are also very helpful in your gardens, they eat many pests such as slugs. Many animals like to eat the American toad like owls, Hawks, snakes, skunks, and raccoons but the toad can produce a fowl smelling toxic chemical to try to keep predators from eating it.
