PLOT

The story is about a man named John who is average at pretty much everything. He is insecure about it so when his company approaches him to be a test subject for a new drug that will enhance his memory he agrees. John loses all social ability by taking this drug and soon begins to alienate people with his intelligence. The company decides to stop the treatments but before they can John suffers what they "describe as a breakdown" (381). At the end it is revealed that he still has a perfect memory and his fiance is going to take control.
