We have many advances in science, take a flamethrower for example. We already knew of fire and its destructive propiaties. So we made napalm a highly flammable substance that was feared by many. These days it's banned in warfare because it was very painful to die from it.

The gun didn't have very good beginnings and was very inaccurate. It molded after a cannon. It used the same mechanism as one, but was much smaller. Over time we made the flintlock mechanism and also the rifle to make the gun shoot straighter.
