Northern Region

Tundra in the north, subarctic in the south. Much of the Northern Region of Canada is snow and ice - covered. The cold climate makes living difficult. The land is covered in mountains, lakes, rivers and small forests.

The Northern Regions of Canada are lightly populated. The population density in the northern regions is the lowest in Canada.

The main industry in the Northern Region is fishing and fur trade. Gold is a common mineral in this area so mining is also a job opportunity

In Ontario, most people speak English. In Quebec, most people speak French and in some parts of Northern Canada Italian, Chinese and Portuguese is spoken.

For entertainment, ATV riding and dog sled racing are fun things to do.
