The Carbon Cycle

Steps

1)Elephants release carbon dioxide from their cells into the air and then plants convert carbon dioxide to a sugar named glucose during photosynthesis. 2)Elephants eat the plants that have glucose which contain carbon dioxide. 3)The glucose is converted to carbon dioxide during animal respiration inside the elephant's cells.

In the Carbon cycle elephants eat the glucose from plants which is converted to carbon dioxide during animal respiration inside their cells. Then they release the carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and the cycle repeats again. The role that elephants (consumers) play in the carbon cycle is: they take glucose which is produced by the plants (producers) and use it for energy.
