Background
The Globe Theatre was built in London in 1576. The Lord Chamberlain Men built it land owned by Thomas Brend. The original theatre was destroyed by a fire on June 19, 1613. They built a new theatre on the same land by June 1614. This theatre was closed down in 1642. In 1997, a modern reconstruction of the theatre was built around 750 feet away from the original site.
