Anyone approved to receive cash assistance or SNAP benefits will be issued an Illinois Link card.It's a plastic card that looks & works like a debit card. If you're eligible for cash & SNAP benefits, you'll access both with the same card.Only 1 card is issued per case.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly Food Stamps) helps low-income people & families buy the food they need for good health.

SNAP benefits can be used to buy:

-any food or food product for human consumption

-seeds & plants for use in home gardens to produce food
