Males peafowls have 2 mating calls that cannot be heard by humans, one is for when the females are far away and one when they are close. These calls are low pitched.

Communication

In general both sexes make loud cawing noises for a flock locater, warning calls, nesting noises and just talkative calls.

Male peacocks also use body/ feather language around females.
