Job outlook.

The employment outlook for EMTs and paramedics was projected to be excellent between 2012 and 2022. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicted a 23% increase in jobs for EMTs and paramedics during that time and period of 2012. Fast job growth was attributed to expanding numbers of elderly persons requiring emergency care. It was also believed that, due to overcrowded conditions in many hospital emergency rooms, emergency personnel would be required to spend more time with patients as they transported them to other area hospitals. Such conditions would create the need for more EMTs and paramedics.

*Why I thing is career is good for me- because I like the feeling of helping someone and making them feel safe. Thing to get used to- all the blood that the patient might be losing and anything that is sticking out like a bone out of the skin.

*Hours for a Emt- Most medics work 3-4. Shifts for Basics are 12 hours, and medics work a 10 hours shift.

*Two thing I learned- 1)That they get paid $11.52 an hour. 2) that in could study for this profession here in dodge city.
