When the diaphragm contracts, it brings air into the lungs. The air travels through your nose, into a pipe called the Pharynx, then the air moves into the Larynx, and then the air moves into another pipe called the Trachea. The trachea is also called the windpipe. The air then travels down the Bronchus, which then subdivides into bronchioles. The bronchioles subdivides into Alveolus (plural). The Alveoli (singular) is where gas exchange occurs. NPLTBBA
