St. Sebastian represented a true Christian disciple because:

- he put himself before others

- ultimately sacrificed himself so that Christians could live their faith While we don't have to completely sacrifice ourselves, we can follow his example by not being afraid to live out faith.

We are universally called to be like St. Sebastian by

- relying on God during our struggles

- giving others strength during their struggles

- speaking out when we see something that is not right

- using our talents to help others

St. Sebastian also gained true holiness by staying firm in his faith, and relying on it during difficult times. Also, he inspired others to have courage and to be fearless with God.
