When newborn babies are born they can see things, but only things that are close. Babies can not understand what they see. They are attracted to faces, bright light, primary colors, dots, stripes, and patterns. The human face is often the first object they recognize. They learn the shape of the eyes, mouth, and nose. In the first three months they start to recognize thing such as their own positions.
