Why is Satire Used?

The purpose of satire is to argue, criticize, comment, persuade, inform, and or judge. It is used in some cases to improve humanity by criticizing its absurdity. Often there can even be a greater purpose which is to give constructive social criticism, using wit to draw attention to certain issues in society.
