Causes of the war
The Ohio Valley was a region that both the French and the British both wanted. British people were expanding westward while the French were moving east, which caused them to bump into Virginia and Pennsylvania settlements. Also, the British were alarmed by French fur trading competition in the valley and so they were determined to fight for their economic security and for the supremacy of their way of life in North America. Rivalry for these lands caused tension between the French and British which led to many battles.
