Hagiography: Story

At Perpetua's death, a soldier struck her once already, but was too nervous to sever her head completely. Perpetua then guided the soldier with her own hands, and cut the rest of her head off.

Significance

The significance of this story is to not be afraid of what might come your way. Like Perpetua we should not let our "haters" discourage us from what's important. We are also called to be proud and stand tall for what we believe in, even though others might have different opinions.
