- There was a law when no one from Asia could come into the U.S
- By 1952 McCarran Walter act let Asians come in (only small fraction)
- Hardest part was getting permission
- It was easy to get in if you had family here, was needed (job purposes), or was married to a solider here.
- Came by plane since law wasn't passed too long ago

- Was easy to get here
- Since they came here for college they had a student visa
