Tony Stark - A billionaire weapons designer who becomes Iron Man and is the hero of the film. He is a brilliant engineer.

Lt. James Rhodes - A friend of Tony, he is the representative for the military to Stark Industries, he also helps Tony defeat Iron Monger.

Obadiah Stane - Tony's second in command at Stark Industries and later becomes Iron Monger who fights Iron Man and is defeated.
