Revelation about God the Son(CCC,240-242)
The term "Son of God" refers to Israel, a king, or angles. In the Synoptic Gospels, Jesus did reveal himself to be the Son of God. They addressed him as "Abba" or "Daddy." This indicates that God was his father in a unique way.
The enemies of Jesus understood that he had a unique relationship with God. They eventually charged him with blasphemy. For the Jewish leaders, Jesus was talking with great disrespect when he claimed to be equal with God. This accusation is shown in a Parable of the Tenants in the Gospel of Mark
The Gospel of John also presents Jesus as the second person of the Blessed Trinity. It also noted the important "I AM" saying of Jesus. All of these revealed found truths about who Jesus was and what he means for us. Later, the teachings became clearer to the apostles after the resurrection of Jesus. One of the great promises Jesus made to the apostles was the Holy Spirit.
