C. Why was the Berlin Conference organized? What did delegates agree to?
British and Belgian colonies were being created in Africa. This alarmed European statesmen and heightened nationalist rivalries. They wanted to bring order to imperialism, so the Berlin Conference was organized. The Berlin Conference provided produced agreement that any European state could establish African colonies after notifying the others of its intentions and occupying previously unclaimed territory. It provided European with the justification they needed to draw lines on maps.
