Celba speciosa

Native to Brazil and Argentina, commonly cultivated in tropical areas.

It is the number one food source for the sloth.It is also called the "Monkey don't climb" tree.

Scientific Name:

The thick prickles serve to store water for dry times.

With its high chlorophyll, it is able to perform photosynthesis making the leaves of young trees green and the leaves of older trees gray.
