Culturural Ethnic Groups

Mexico had very complex civilizations including the Maya, Olmec, Toltec, and Zapotec. All of these civilizations had large city centers. The Aztecs were the most civilized of any group and created an empire that ruled Mexico for a long time.
Effects of Catholicism
In the 20th century, Catholic Churches were not allowed to own property, run schools, or anything of that nature. The churches were given strict orders of how to run things and couldn't do things any other way. It was tough for Roman Catholics to live their spiritual lives in peace.
