🎼 Life as a Teen 🎶
- The 1940s music was greatly influenced by WWII. Big
band and Jazz were the two most popular genres.
- Rhythm and Blues began to become popular and the
beginnings of Rock and Roll were underway.
- During the early '40s, the influence of the Great
Depression was still evident in the fashion of the
period, women's outfits still being long, and ankle
length dresses were phasing out.
- during the wartime era of 1939 to 1945, men's fashion
experienced a need for practical and sturdy
clothing. Suits lost their vests, pocket flaps, and
trouser cuffs, and the use of natural fibers.
- like today not only American teenagers enjoyed
sports, and watching it. In the 1940's the most game
enjoyed was baseball.
- black students in the 1940's were given unequal
educational rights.
- students were disproportionally assigned to non
Academic tracks.
