The Sun is the star in the center of our solar system. It is a huge sphere made up of mostly ionized gas. The distance from the sun to Earth is 92.96 million miles away, which is known as 1 Astronomical unit (AU). This distance seems like a lot, but compared to the other planters in our solar system, 1 AU is not that much.
