This shows that op art was a wide spread art form. Op art was around between the 1960s and 1970s. During this time feminism, civil rights, and the Vietnam war had a major role in the society of America. Also during this time New York was the art center of the world. Characteristics of op art cause the eye to detect movement-or the sense of it. It is created to be abstract and to fool or tease the viewer.
