External Conflict:
- when the list is finished, the monks say that God will have no more purpose for the world
- George and Chuck are told that God will destroy the world after their work is done
-they are skeptical of this, but want to leave
Internal Conflict
-George and Chuck fear they might be blamed if the world isn't destroyed
-If the list is finished and nothing happens, they believe the monks will blame it on their work and technology
