Inventions of Tesla
Defining Quote
July 10th, 1856: Tesla was Born
Teslas older brother died; motivation for Tesla. Tesla begins education this year.
Tesla attends Gimnazije Karlovac, where teacher, Martin Sekulić teaches him math and physics, Sekulić is major influence. Tesla graduates a year early.
Tesla contracts Cholera, father promises to send him to engineering school if he survives.
Attends Polytechnic school, first year has the best grades possible but by year three he drops out.
Father dies, motivation for tesla to do something with his life.
given job of "Chief Electrician" at the Budapest telephone exchange, during employment Tesla makes numerous imporvemnts and invents an amplifier device
Tesla invents the A.C. motor, draws the design in the sand with a stick.
Teslas demonstrates A.C. motor. Investors were very interested, but didn't think it would last...ha
Tesla arrives in New York. The day after her arrives he meets Thomas Edison and begins working for him immediately.
Quits working for Edison. "Tesla Electric Light Company". Invented arc lamps the worked better Han anything else during this time period. Tesla eventually was forced out of own company. Referred to this as "hardest blow" he'd ever received.
after being betrayed by men he trusted
"Tesla Electric Company", Tesla starts in New York. Fills first patient by end of month.
opens "Grand St. lab" in New York, works with high frequency apparatus, wireless transmission and theories on the relationship between electromagnetic radiation and light.
Edison-Sponsored smear campaign against rivals of Edison, including Tesla.
Tesla discovers wireless power, developed first neon and fluorescent illumination, first x-Ray, and his personal favorite, illuminating a vacuum tube wirelessly, transmitting energy through the air.
"Telluride power station" up and running. First power station in the world to transmit alternating current at a high voltage for power purposes. Tesla gains American citizen ship.
Colombian exposition is powered by the "Westinghouse company", but was fully supervised by Tesla. The generator he designed produced 3 times more energy than was being used by Chicago. The success of Teslas generator led to the Westinghouse company being selected to harness Niagara Falls
First Niagara generator tested, the generator bore Teslas name and patient numbers, ram at full speed, 250 revolutions per minute. Very successful
Tesla begins experiments in Colorado. Here he discovered a geo-electrical phenomenon, and which he thought could give free electricity to the world.
Tesla signs with JP Morgan for 51% of all inventions, including future ones for just 150,000$
Wardenclyffe tower Testing begins, (testing geo-electricity, only tested several times) the tower would shoot electricity into the sky, on-lookers were mystified.
J.P. Morgan withdraws support from Wardenclyffe tower, eventually shuts down. Tesla announces blade-less turbine to the world.
Tesla tests diffrent models of steam turbines.
Tesla declares Bankruptcy, even though tesla had many successesful inventions, he was often cheated by banks and investors. So he soon ran out of money.
Tesla moves to Chicago and envisions the 'Radar'
Tesla is Times person of the year, Edison dies
Tesla dies at 86 years old.

"Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine."
