Political impact
In 1882 laws were formed giving many restrictions to the immigrants such as banning convicts, paupers, and the mentally impaired from immigrating. Special laws were created for the Chinese called "the Chinese Exclusion Acts". Also, the Dillingham Commission was created in order to justify these laws and others. They believed the immigrants were dangerous for American politics.
