Cultural Interaction and Spread of Religion in Sumer

Sumerians of the Central Fertile Crescent were the first to take on religion. These civilians believed in that there were many gods, polytheism, and that there were gods for almost everything such as weather, land, and War. They believed that all of these gods were to be treated like humans would, but they built and praised beautiful and giant ziggurats for the gods so that they would not strike. This religion was quickly spread all around Sumer and other early cultures through Cultural Diffusion.
