History
During Columbus's fourth and final trip to the Americas(1502)he landed in Costa Rica.
The spaniards established a colony in 1563.
Mexico and Costa Rica launched a war of independence in 1810, and in 1812, it succeeded in winning independence for their self.
In 1838 Costa Rica withdrew to become a sovereign country.
In 1949, a new constitution was formed.In an attempt to prevent civil war from breaking out again, the constitution dissolved Costa Rica's armed forces.
