Thomas Gray is telling the story literally how it happened, not covering it up and Styron tries to cover up the story and make African Americans look "better".
Gray
Thomas Gray is a white male, and also the author of the real The Confessions of Nat Turner. Thomas Gray does not try to cover up what really happened, he tells it just how it had happened. The sender of this story was Thomas Gray, and the message was that Nat killed the whites because he felt that he was called by God to rebel. The emotion in this story is sad because Nat Turner feels like he's being punished for what God called him to do. The logic of writing the confessions of Nat Turner was to reveal to the public what really happened. Because this was directly what Nat Turner said, there isn't really a language for the author.
Styron
William Styron is a white male , and the author of the fiction, The Confessions of Nat Turner. Took the real story of Nat Turner and wrote a fiction story about what happened. The purpose of this was to make Nat Turner, an African American, look less of a monster for killing the whites. The subject of this story is Nat Turner, and the message is that he killed the white girl to stop the lust he had for her. The emotion is sad because he had to rid of the girl because he was lusting for her. Styron's logic was to show that African Americans have feelings and love people just as White people do. The race of Styron has no effect in the story because Styron is white and he is trying to cover up what Nat Turner did and make him look better even though he's an African American.
Styron's story shows cause and effect because he twisted the story of Nat Turner and people got mad at him.
