Worship is Word-centered

Old Testament:

life-encompassing, Word-centered worship had roots in the way God's Word was regarded in the old covenant.

-Psalms express that God's Word covers everything from A to Z.

-The Word was central in Israel's existence.

New Testament:

Corporate worship in the early church centered on God's Word.

-The Scriptures were life to Moses and food to Jesus--Scriptures were essential and indispensable.

Word and Spirit:

The Word and Spirit are inseparable.

-ruah and pnuema: wind, breath, spirit; the breath of God

-Spirit and Word are connected like breath and speech.
