Sartrean Conclusion

The big picture of this chapter is that Grendel has transcended from Passive to God-like, in response to the death of his own "God" figure, the Shaper. He becomes aware of humans' passivity, and he comes to the conclusion that they are enslaved by their Bad Faith. Grendel becomes energized by the power of this realization.
