Early Career
Booker was recruited to open a new school in Tskeegee, Alabama for African American students. When he arrived, in 1881, the school had no buildings and no school equipment or supplies. So,Booker spent his entire life building,changeing,and improving the school, turning Tuskeegee Institude into a university. Booker T. Washington taught his students how to make a living, such as learning how to do farming,agriculture,constuction, and sewing. As Tuskeegee Institude grew bigger and bigger, Booker traveled to the south to get support for the school. He improved speaking and politics during his trip and he soon became famouse and was part of the Civil Rights Movement. But it all stopped when Booker T. Washington died of heart failure. But he is still remembered today and Tuskegee Institude is still open to this day. Booker t.washington was an important person that played an important part in history.
