His life in the city

After his partner, the German painter Max Ernst, was jailed and sent to the Les Milles concentration camp in France, where they both lived, the surrealist painter fled the Nazi invasion of France. She traveled to Spain, Portugal and the United States, finally arrived in Mexico, a country that welcomed her with open arms and which she adopted as her own when she acquired Mexican nationality.
