Pathos

Pathos is a form of rhetoric that affects emotions.

This is a pathos example because it appeals to our emotions, the dog is supposed to be in a bad family getting beaten and nobody wants to see a dog get beat.

Everybody is always feels terrible after watching this tear jerking commercial that is a classic pathos.
