Plant adaptations

1. the western skunk cabbage gives off a smell that makes it unattractive to insects so they wont eat it.

2. The costal Red wood has extremely long roots to help it from falling over in strong storms

Animal Adaptations

1. The tree frog can change color according to season or environment which acts as a camo from predators

2. The mountain lion has adapted to attack prey at the neck or back to assure they kill the prey

Impacts humans have on this biome

Just like the tropical rain forest the Temperate rain forest is impacted largely by deforestation. Due to deforestation many animal species in this biome are becoming extinct.

Facts about the biome

1. The temperature can change from -20 up to 90 degrees

2. There are four seasons in the temperate rain forest

3. The soil in this biome is very rich due to all of the dead plants

4. There is between 30-60 inches of rain every year in the temperate rain forest

5. Temperate means "in moderation"

- This biome is very diverse.
