A cop from New York, John McClane, is visiting an L.A. Christmas party. 12 terrorist break in and hold everyone hostage. He must go 1 on 12 and defeat the terrorists before they steal the money. He finds his way out of multiple situations where death seems inevitable.

He also has the cops on his side but they do not trust him so they provide no aid towards his plan and even compromise it sometimes.
