Ellipse

Formally, an ellipse can be defined as follows: For two given points, the foci, an ellipse is the locus of points such that the sum of the distance to each focus is constant.

According to Kepler's First Law of Planetary Motion, the orbit of each planet is an ellipse, with one focus of that ellipse at the center of the Sun.
