External Migration

A. Voluntary and forced migrations have transformed the human landscape by having people be able to use their resources and have the ability to adapt. Between the 19th and 20th century, more than 60 million Europeans have colonized regions such as the americas, Australia, the Oceania, and the northern half of Asia.

B. One example of ethnic minorities being forced off their land in the twentieth century was during World War II, the Germans were forced out of their homes and had to go to concentration camps and other labor facilities.

C. Xenophobia is a intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries. This shaped the amount of violence in the 20th century by having all of these people in different countries think that any neighboring countries were the enemy, thus resulting to violence. This became a huge problem during this century due to the fact of being xenophobic.
