Hill stations were established when Britain came to the Himalayas. There are an abundant number of activities to explore. There is trekking, mountain climbing, sightseeing, winter sports, hiking, skiing, and rafting. Tenzing Morgay climbed Mt. Everest in the 1950's. Tourism since the age of pilgrimage has produced jobs, money, and gem currency. Part of the money raised by tourism each year goes to education and farming.
